Dontea Gresham, was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Martin Luther King Jr. High school for Law & Municipal Careers. During his time at MLK High School, he was involved in a multitude of extracurricular activities such as: the soccer team, boys track team, and Mock trial team. He served in many leadership capacities: Student President of the B.R.I.C.K Program, President of the MLK National Honor Society, Senior Class President, and outside of school he served as President of the Ohio Youth and College Division in the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Vice President of the Cleveland Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Mr. Gresham became the first and youngest high school student to be employed as a Student Clerk for the United States Attorney’s office for the Northern District of Ohio/ U.S Department of Justice. He also served as a Student intern in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Superintendent Office, while maintaining a student intern position at McDonald Hopkins Law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated as valedictorian from MLK High school in 2012. Dontea is now entering his junior year at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Freshman year he served as President of the William J. White Hall on campus, became a Morehouse College Vanguard Scholar and is currently a member of the world renowned Morehouse College Glee Club. During his summer vacations Dontea works in the Director office at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, Calhoun Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation, and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Internal Audit Office. He also serves as a mentor to other youth in the Greater Cleveland area. If you asked Mr. Gresham what was the hardest thing he had to go through while at Morehouse College his reply would be losing his beloved Mother Theresa Gresham, on October 15, 2013. But using the values and determination his mother instilled in him continues to push him forward with the knowledge that he must carry on her legacy. Mr. Gresham’s career aspirations are to enter politics, become a U.S. Senator and run for President of the United States of America and win!
